Park rangers sworn in
Tuesday morning Metro District Open Space and Park Ranger Supervisor Scott Nelson and Park Ranger Andrew Yocum were sworn in as code enforcement officers by Sheriff Tony Spurlock.

As code enforcement officers, park rangers enforce rules including unlawful conduct on public property, and the control and licensing of dogs and pets.

Congratulations Scott and Andrew!
Stormwater takes center stage

Stormwater management is an important component of the Metro District's public works services. Stormwater is conveyed through the open space drainage ways, which are home to wildlife and are the backbone of our trail system. Due to multiple uses, it is important to protect the drainage ways from the effects of increased storm flows and erosion.

The Metro District has begun two stormwater projects on the east side of the community. The projects will repair the erosion which is occurring in both areas and stabilize the channels. The projects are located at Cheese Ranch Historic & Natural Area, and the open space corridor north of Cheese Ranch at the Links Golf Course. Click the links below for more information about each project.
