Author & Illustrator Darren Farrell presents Doug-Dennis and the Flyaway Fib

Brooklyn author Darren Farrell reads from his very first book, Doug-Dennis and the Flyaway Fib, today at Greenlight! Adorable  young sheep Doug-Dennis eats all of his best friend's popcorn at the circus, and then tells a fib (It wasn't me!), which grows and grows (Maybe monsters ate it!), carrying Doug-Dennis away until he's floating in a silly outer space land of lies. Doug-Dennis realizes there's only one way to come back down: by finally telling the truth. Reading and signing.

For kids ages 3 to 8.

The Scrap Kins is a New York City-based creativity program for kids based on the adventures of a group of monsters that live in a recycling center and build their world out of the things we throw away. Created in 2006 by Fort Greene based children's designer Brian Yanish and inspired by his childhood drawings, The Scrap Kins mission is to encourage creativity and resourcefulness through stories and recycled art projects - perfect for an Earth Day event! The Scrap Kins' first book has loads of great ideas for making neat stuff out of discarded junk - Brian will present the book and lead a very cool craft using recycled materials.
