BCCLS News

State-wide delivery service transition in effect.
Delays persist.
BCCLS libraries are still experiencing major delays with the new state-wide delivery system and we are working hard to rectify the situation.

There is an average of 4,344 requests placed through the BCCLS catalog each day.

In an effort to temporarily reduce the volume, the BCCLS Executive Board has decided to turn off the ability to place online requests effective immediately.

The Little Book of Lykke:
The Danish Search for the World's Happiest People

Lykke (Luu-kah) (n): Happiness

     Have you heard of Hygge
 - the Danish philosophy of comfort, togetherness, and well-being?  Did you know that they burn more candles in Denmark per capita than any other European nation?*  And, one way to achieve Hygge is simply by going for a walk with friends.     Doesn't that sound like pure happiness? Well, Denmark is supposedly the happiest country on earth and
Lyyke, or happiness, explains why.

In a way, The Little Book of Lykke is like following through on the promise of Hygge everyday.  And, it turns out, that Lykke is not just found in Denmark, but secrets to happiness are hidden all over the world.  Chapters are divided into topics like togetherness, health, and kindness to help readers navigate the different aspects of their lives that might determine their ultimate happiness.
