Hello, beautiful!

Leeches, worm poop and other bizarre A-list beauty secrets

At last week's Screen Actors Guild awards, A-list celebrities looked stunning, of course. Kerry Washington glowed. Jessica Chastain stunned. Jennifer Lawrence dazzled. And while some celebs may just be genetically blessed, many more will do the strangest things in the name of looking great. Here's what's weird in the world of beauty.

Don't pooh-pooh this skin-care trick

Victoria Beckham has a net worth of approximately $80 million, but her skin care secret may be for the birds. Beckham reportedly counts on so-called "geisha facials" to keep her skin glowing. The geisha facial calls upon nightingale excrement from Kyushu, a Japanese island, which is mixed with rice bran and water to create a cleansing mask. Offered at the Shizuka spa in New York as well as Hari's salon in London, Beckham's not the only celebrity who reportedly swears by this treatment. The Huffington Post reports that Tom Cruise is also a Geisha Facial fan, which may help explain why, while marriages may come and go for Cruise, his reputation as one of Hollywood's best-looking leading men continues to fly high.

Clarisonic? You've been rocking that for years. Pore strips? Gross and incredibly gratifying. Crme de la Mer? From head to toe. No matter how many products you've amassed and how religiously you apply them, nothing seems to save skin, clear pores and leave you all a-glow like a fab facial. But, if "investing" in every buzz-worthy new beauty brand has left your budget slightly tapped, you're sure to love our list of some of the best facials in the country... priced oh-so-right at $39 to $59 during our annual Love You campaign. J'adore your skin? Well then, show it some love!

Celebrity Makeup Artists Reveals Skin Care Dos and Make Up Dont's

Gina Brooke looks like a woman who takes her own advice. That's what struck me when I met up with Brooke this week for the second time in as many years. Brooke, a sought after make-up artist who has "painted" the faces of Anne Hathaway, Naomi Campbell, Gisele Bundchen, Cindy Crawford, Britney Spears, Katy Perry, Gwen Stefani and Madonna, sported deep red lips, long lashes and pin-up worthy waves while she dished about her celebrity clients, their skin care secret and the most common makeup mistakes that women make.

As a highly regarded celebrity makeup artist Brooke's known for having particular skill in eye lash adornment, so much so that some credit her with reviving faux lashes.  In 2006, before the current faux-lash mania, Brooke hand-crafted a pair of bejeweled mink lashes for Madonna's Confessions Tour. Then, Oprah's makeup artist ordered several hundred pairs, at a reported $1,000 per set. Soon after, a long, lush lash trend was in full force and Brooke's custom made lash creations were regularly fluttering about the faces of Madonna, Sade, Lady Gaga and many more.

The scoop on celeb beauty and skin care...
