Avoiding Perfection in Favor of the Good Enough
The Strategic Collaboration Council met at the April EGU meeting in Vienna to continue mapping out the path ahead for the combined activity. For this meeting, the group built on the discussions during the bi-weekly tag-ups related to reframing the governance concepts. During the EGU discussion, the focus was on identifying specific next steps that continue to build towards a working framework. Agenda items covered included updates from COOP+ and COOPEUS, and an update on soliciting inputs for the Strategic Research and Innovation Agenda (SRIA).
By the end of the meeting, the group agreed to keep the original Mission Statement , the following specific areas to work on as next steps: finalizing feedback on the SRIA (see article below) , organizing for ICRI and AGU 2018, and starting some development of approaches to knowledge management, communications/marketing, and engagement. View our website for meeting notes.
COOP+ WP4 Splinter Meeting at EGU

The meeting was organized as a part of COOP+ Work Package 4 activity where focus is on Promotion of Best Practices and Efficient Knowledge Transfer among research infrastructures.

The meeting was organized as a part of COOP+ WP4 (Promotion of Best Practices and Efficient Knowledge Transfer among research infrastructures) activity.
COOP+ Strategic Research and Innovation Agenda (SRIA)
Diarmuid Ó Conchubhair,
Marine Institute, Ireland

COOP+ is currently developing a Strategic Research and Innovation Agenda (SRIA) which will form the basis for global co-operation and collaboration of the RIs involved in COOP+. The SRIA will also include input from the COOP+ designated Global Challenges (for more information on COOP+ Global Challenges: http://www.coop-plus.eu/marine_workshop_invemar ). The SRIA will express the ambition of COOP+ in terms of all RIs participating in and associated with COOP+ with a specific focus on:
1) Global research and innovation challenges and needs in the mid-term (5-10 years)
2) Collaboration priorities, actions, instruments, resources, and an implementation timeline.

COOP+ will aim to have a final version of its SRIA complete for publication and dissemination at ICRI 2018 - 4th International Conference on Research Infrastructures (12 th – 14 th September 2018, Vienna).
