Thank You For a Wonderful Party in the Garden!
This past Monday, Hollygrove Market & Farm hosted it's 3rd Annual Party in the Garden Fundraiser. Needless to say, it was awesome. -To the restaurants who attended, thank you. Your willingness to contribute your staff time & food for the past three years has been the main reason the Party in the Garden was able to happen in the first place. Your commitment to sourcing local products and exposing your patrons to new and interesting ways to use local produce sets the trend for NOLA home cooks to follow. Keep up the good work!-To the auction donors, thank you. This year was by far our best auction ever and it could not have happened without your generous contributions.-To the volunteers, thank you. We say it a lot, but probably can't say it enough...without all of our volunteers, the market could not do what we do. Since day one, volunteers have been integral to the success of the market and it was no different with this past Monday's fundraiser.-A BIG thank you to the farmers and food artisans for their donation of product from their farms. The whole local food movement relies on passionate farmers & producers who understand the importance of preserving a local food system. Their dedication to their craft is what makes all the products at the market so darn tasty!-Last but not least, thanks to all the patrons who attended the party. The staff at Hollygrove Market & Farm is eternally grateful for your support and we will continue to work feverishly to improve the quality, consistency, and accessibility of local produce. Seeing so many people come out to our fundraiser and support us is reinvigorating for the staff and let's us know that all the long hours we put in are most definitely worth it.THANKS!!!

The Box Meal Plan: May 19th
Blueberry Cornbread-Blueberry season is now upon us and with it, full pints of blueberry in the box. Blueberry, corn, & honey are a wonderful trio, so it only makes sense to whip em up into a delicious baked good. Cucumber, Tomato and Feta Salad-Simple, seasonal, and tasty, this recipe would make a great pairing with lamb burgers from our free-range ground lamb from Two Run Farms.
Strawberry Vinaigrette-Store bought dressing pales in comparison to what you can make at home and it costs a fraction of the price. To make this recipe even better, add a healthy dose of quality fresh cracked pepper to the dressing. Strawberries & black pepper are a surprisingly wonderful combo. Cucumber Water-To call this a recipe would be a bit of a stretch, but it doesn't change the fact that it is quite possibly the most refreshing drink ever. The recipe says 2-3 slices, but feel free to use much more if you like the cucumber flavor. With a half a cucumber, you can refill 4-5 times before the flavor starts to dissipate.
