October 2017 Newsletter
Greetings!

We are excited to report that Roseville High School in Roseville, California and Children of Compassion have joined forces to help orphaned and disabled children in Africa. Samuel Meaway, Prince Queewon and Diamond Jackson (pictured above) each received a much-needed wheelchair as a direct result of the heart-felt fundraising efforts of the Roseville High School students.
In the video on the right, teacher Katrina Wachs-Worden explains how Roseville High School students are helping the poorest of the poor by using the Children of Compassion technology system.

Any act of kindness can be transformed to produce life-memorable experiences.
Katrina Wachs-Worden is an amazing teacher and we have incorporated her ideas so other schools can benefit in the future. Katrina is available for consulting and training for teachers interested in implementing the Children of Compassion program. In addition, she and Anna Marie Clark created a three week Introduction to Africa curriculum mapped to common core standards. While this level of instruction is not required to use the new technology, it is a wonderful option for us to offer.
Students Sharing & Caring
Roseville High School students interacted with students in Africa via collaboration technology. The collaboration led to meeting a community of disabled people who were starving and only able to eat one spoon of soup each day. The future looked increasingly desperate and this is why the Roseville High School and Children of Compassion team promptly acted with an emergency food delivery.
Shown in the video on the right is the thank you by the recipients of the emergency food aid. This life-saving food delivery included rice, beans, fish, palm oil, onions, and other much needed food items.

Also shown are thank you messages from the three children receiving wheelchairs

Children Needing Sponsors
A Big Mac meal at McDonald's costs about $7. A drink at Starbucks costs about $5. A child in Africa can be fed for a week on what it typically costs to get a McDonald's meal or a Starbucks drink.

Can you trade a meal at McDonald's or a drink at Starbucks to feed a child for five to seven days?
We currently have 54 orphaned or disabled children needing sponsors.
We Need Schools!
Do you know of a school willing to join us?

The needs of people in Africa living in the aftermath of the Ebola epidemic are tremendous. In Sierra Leone and Liberia often only one person in a group of ten has a job!
We can rescue orphaned and disabled children but we need help!
