Max's Healthy Tip of the Week:

Cranberries have been used for years for various medicinal purposes - helping with bladder problems

as well as gum disease.

In fact Native Americans used them

to fight all infections.

They are naturally low in sugar, sodium, and fat and are high in vitamins C, K, and E.

So at Thanksgiving make that second helping

the dish with all those cranberries.

MARC WEISS TALKS ABOUT FINANCES
EXPERT FINANCIAL ADVICE FROM MARC WEISS

How to get the money from Dad

(A Case Study from Archer Weiss)

Jon is age 59. He is married with three grown children. He wasn't sure how he should name the beneficiaries of his IRA monies - in trust or to the children directly.

Solution:

Unless there are special needs, leaving money to a trust may prove to be a very costly tax burden to his heirs. Therefore, Jon's three adult children can be named as Designated Beneficiaries of his IRA monies. This means they must be identified as a natural person with a date of birth and social security number. In addition, they must be left a whole percentage of the IRA under current IRS rules.

5 BIGGEST VISION QUESTIONS, ANSWERED
Find out whether or not carrots really do improve vision, the best way to relieve dry eyes and more.
PAIN IN YOUR UPPER BACK?  SHOULDERS?
LOWER BACK?

Have you tried a TENS unit?

TENS stands for transcutaneous electrical nerve stimulation.  Many people are finding relief from certain types of pain using these small devices.  Instead of using painkilling medications, try using one of these alternative types of treatment.  And there are no side effects using a TENS unit as there are when taking medicine for pain.

And in some cases, the use of these devices could help to cut down on the use of excessive pain medication.  I personally have found amazing results using one of these units.

Go see Tal at Topanga Plaza on the lower level at his kiosk across from Victoria's Secret and try one of these pain relieving units.   You will be amazed how efficiently they will help to relieve some types of discomfort.
