Max's Healthy Tip of the Week:

Include basil in your daily regimen because it is one of nature's hidden secrets for continuing good health. Basil has anti-Inflammatory effects, contains nutrients essential for cardiovascular health, and contains magnesium, copper, Vitamin C, and is a good source of calcium, iron, folate and omega-3 fatty acids.

Use it to make pesto and even make a
hot tea to calm your stomach.

Store basil in a vase filled with water - leave it on your kitchen counter and you will capture the aroma of this amazing herb every time you walk into your kitchen

WORDS OF FINANCIAL WISDOM FROM MARC WEISS
SOLVING THE DILEMMA ... ALL ABOUT TLC

This month's information is dedicated to a special planning tool.  As we age, our planning needs naturally change and we have to anticipate roadblocks that many ignore until it's too late. When the subject of failing health arises, our natural (and typical) reaction is to deflect this dose of reality and convince ourselves "That won't happen to me, it will happen to the other guy, but not to me."

TAI CHI MIGHT HELP PEOPLE WITH LONG-TERM HEALTH CONDITIONS
The slow, fluid movements of tai chi -- an ancient Chinese exercise -- appear to help older adults with chronic conditions improve their physical function, a new review suggests.

Specifically, those with breast cancer, heart failure, osteoarthritis or chronic obstructive pulmonary disease (COPD, which includes emphysema) saw improvements in strength, balance and posture without worsening pain or being out of breath, researchers said.

HOW TO DISPOSE OF UNUSED MEDICINES
Is your medicine cabinet filled with expired drugs or medications you no longer use? How should you dispose of them?

Most drugs can be thrown in the household trash, but consumers should take certain precautions before tossing them out, according to the Food and Drug Administration (FDA). A few drugs should be flushed down the toilet. And a growing number of community-based "take-back" programs offer another safe disposal alternative.     READ MORE HERE
