Max's Healthy Tip of the Week

Little children laugh about 50 times a day; adults sometimes never. But we know that laughter mitigates stress and it is so important that it is considered

internal jogging for your body.

Give yourself an interior vacation.

So go ahead and laugh at least a couple of times daily. It does your body good!

IF YOU LIKE TCHAIKOVSKY YOU WILL

REALLY LOVE THIS - JUST BEAUTIFUL
Forty students from the Jerusalem Academy of Music and Dance took a classical approach to the flashmob as they flashwaltzed Tchaikovsky's Waltz of the Flowers at the new Sarah Wetsman Davidson Hospital Tower in Jerusalem.  Doctors, patients and passers-by joined in the fun.

The surprise concert was part of Good Deeds Day, an annual event that originated in Israel in 2007 and now takes place in over 50 countries worldwide. On this day volunteers reach out to the less fortunate and the vulnerable.

The Academy students enjoyed the day so much that they have decided to schedule regular concerts at the hospital. Hadassah Medical Organization treats over one million patients annually, without regard to race, religion or national origin.

FOR ALL YOU TRIVIA LOVERS
REMEMBER TRIVIAL PURSUIT -
IT'S ALIVE & WELL IN THE SFV!
If you want to be king or queen of random knowledge, you can be.  There are leagues and rankings.  Here are some places where you can go to play:

Some Valley locations are in Sherman Oaks (The Cork Lounge, Robin Hood British Pub), N. Hollywood (The Federal Bar, Pitfire Pizza HoHo), Encino (Prohibition Burgers & Beer), Van Nuys (Pineapple Hill Saloon), Woodland Hills (The White Harte, Picwick's Pub), Calabasas (Sagebrush Cantina), Burbank (Barney's Beanery, Moore's Deli).

Click here for some of the rules and how it works:  http://www.kingtrivia.com/howitworks.php

Or for other  locations and times:   http://www.kingtrivia.com/rules.php

Their 2 primary rules seem to be "have fun" and "don't be lame" (don't cheat; don't act stupidly; don't challenge the Quizmaster).  For those of you that live and breathe trivia, this might be fun.

JULY ANNUAL SALES
MAJOR SALES EVENT: After the Fourth of July you may find major savings.  July is one of the best times to look for clearance sales of warm weather clothing including bathing suits and beach items.  Watch for special sidewalk and other sales.  In July you will still find a good selection.  Look for store brand clothing "below cost" at the end of the month and into August.  The reason there are major sales at this time is that stores are getting ready for the "Back to School" season which one of their biggest.  In July you might even find some early specials on back-to-school clothes.

MAJOR PURCHASES TYPICALLY ON SALE: Air conditioners, appliances, audiovisual equipment, furniture, bicycles, mattresses, refrigerators, tires, washers & dryers.

FRUITS AND VEGETABLES: apples, apricots, blackberries, blueberries, cabbage, cantaloupe, celery, chard, cherries, corn, cucumbers, eggplant, green or wax beans, green onions, green peppers, lemons, lima beans, limes, lettuce, nectarines, okra, peaches, peas, plums, squash, tomatoes, watercress, watermelon.  NOTE: With some produce now available all during the year, many people have forgotten when fruits and vegetables are really fresh. Buying in season means that these items are often cheaper, fresher, taste better and that money may be going to local farmers.
