Max's Healthy Tip of the Week:

To give your body a refreshing break from summer's heat, focus on eating cooling foods.  These include sprouts, watermelon, water cress, cucumbers, tomatoes, rhubarb, all citrus fruits, and bananas.  These foods will help to keep your body cool on a hot summer's day.

So now we can all be "cool".

important1  If sometimes you find you are not receiving our newsletter (on Thursday mornings), please check your "junk" or "spam" files.  It may have inadvertently ended up in one of those files.

Also one of the very first things you will see when you open the newsletter is this
"Having trouble viewing this email? Click here ".  If you will in fact click on that, it will open up the entire newsletter so that everything including all the information on the right hand side, will be visible.  This way the newsletter is much easier to read.

MARC WEISS TALKS ABOUT FINANCES
EXPERT FINANCIAL ADVICE FROM MARC WEISS
Marc Weiss presents some actual case studies

Case Study I: Never wants to run out of money

Joann is Age 54.  She is divorced with one grown daughter age 28.  Joann has been investing her old 401(k) money in Bond and Stock Mutual Funds for the past several years.  Her original money was worth $320,000 but is now worth $265,000.

Case Study II: How to get the money from Dad

Jon is age 59.  He is married with three grown children.  He wasn't sure how he should name the beneficiaries of his IRA monies - in trust or to the children directly.

Case Study III: Taxes are a "choice"

A CPA needed help because they had a client whose father had died leaving about $350,000 in an IRA. The client was coming to see the CPA the next day and he needed advice on how to instruct the client to "distribute" the funds as a check was already cut.

GRANDPARENTING HELP
Communication between grandparents and their grandchildren (or even children) can be challenging especially in these times.

Linda Minster, a UCLA graduate with a master's degree in education, administration and supervision, works with grandparents to improve their interactions. A parent and grandparent herself, she is very passionate about ways of improving communication between generations.

Minster, the author/instructor of two classes, "Grandparenting Successfully" and "Parenting Successfully", while training teachers at CSUN, knows how stressful life can be, particularly today. She teaches that the best way is when they all work together. Most grandparents want to enrich their grandchildren's lives and don't give themselves credit for the positive role models they are. Her classes explore how they can do this.

She is available for private or group talks.
You may contact her at: tennislady@socal.rr.com
