Max's Healthy Tip of the Week:

Why are nutritionists so sweet on sweet potatoes?

Consider that they have anti-inflammatory nutrients, help with control of sugar, and contain Vitamins B6, C, and D.  They also prove to be good sources of iron, magnesium, and potassium.

So this Thanksgiving be sure to include some sweet potato dishes on your table.

DO YOU KNOW ABOUT JUMP?
Jump! is a non-profit organization that helps seniors achieve what's left on their bucket list, and inspires them to reach for their dreams.

Jump! was started and inspired by Webb Weiman, who had to up grow up quickly because of  much illness in the family.  He knew that seniors have dreams that sometimes go unfulfilled and decided to do something to help along these lines.

The first participant he worked with was Estelle Eisenberg who went skydiving on her 90th birthday followed by Edna Baldwin who at 91, went race car driving in Irwindale, CA.  As Webb says, "Inspiration comes in many different forms, and whether you want to participate or recommend a friend, we look forward to building our family, one Jump! at a time.

So if you have dreams that you want to realize take a look at his  WEBSITE .   There you will be able find his "Jumpisodes".  He's doing an amazing job!

PAIN IN YOUR UPPER BACK? SHOULDERS? LOWER BACK?

Have you tried a TENS unit?

TENS stands for transcutaneous electrical nerve stimulation. Many people are finding relief from certain types of pain using these small devices. Instead of using painkilling medications, try using one of these alternative types of treatment. And there are no side effects using a TENS unit as there are when taking medicine for pain.

And in some cases, the use of these devices could help to cut down on the use of excessive pain medication. I personally have found amazing results using one of these units.

Go see Tal at Topanga Plaza on the lower level at his kiosk across from Victoria's Secret and try one of these pain relieving units.   You will be amazed how efficiently they will help to relieve some types of discomfort.
