Max's Healthy Tip of the Week

How do some of your vegetables score on pesticides?

Take celery for example - up to 13 pesticides are

sprayed on this otherwise healthy

vegetable. Since these stalks are so porous,

they retain all these poisons.

Be wary also when buying bell peppers,

spinach, and potatoes as well.

So farmers' markets here we come - let's buy health instead of disease!

HOW IMPORTANT IS LAUGHTER?
For the luckiest among us, our senior years are truly our golden years. For other seniors, getting older is not a laugh riot. Many relate to Bette Davis when she remarked: "Getting old is not for sissies."

Whether we're having the time of our life or hitting a rough patch of road, we could all use a good laugh. Laughing not only boosts our mood, it also boosts our physical energy and our immune systems!
