Max's Healthy Tip of the Week:

If you drink soda consider that the average can contains about 15 teaspoons of sugar. And we are very aware of the dangers of sugar - overweight, and among other problems the assault on your immune system

making us vulnerable to disease.

Changing to those diet sodas isn't the answer either since you are literally drinking a can of chemicals,

artificial flavorings, and food colorings.

So for the maximum chance of good health

and weight, drop that pop!

MARC WEISS TALKS ABOUT FINANCES
EXPERT FINANCIAL ADVICE FROM MARC WEISS
Rising Expenses Means Retirees Need Rising Income

So, how do we plan for the knowns -  and unknowns of retirement?  Despite the market's recent strength, retirees and those nearing retirement still face certain risks when it comes to retirement income.

Just a generation or two ago, Americans had several sources of guaranteed income in retirement.  But the pensions that once provided income for retirees are now rare.  As for Social Security, questions persist about its long-term solvency and whether that will result in a reduction of current benefit levels.  And we have all seen how personal savings and assets have been impacted by low interest rates and housing and market volatility.

Call Marc for answers and solutions to your financial questions.

Meet F. Scott Fitzgerald - Simi Valley Public Library
Thursday, July 31 at 6:00 pm

A loving portrait of writer F. Scott Fitzgerald revealing his human frailties and deep heart, "Meeting F. Scott Fitzgerald" presents the wistful, tragic life of the writer through the sharp eyes and portrayal of playwright/performer Larry Vanderveen.   Vanderveen, dressed impeccably in spats and double-breasted suit, elegantly captures the melancholic soul of Fitzgerald, intensely revealing the emotion and ironic humor as the long suffering but now sober writer.  He wonderfully portrays Fitzgerald's wounded but resilient spirit.

An informative, entertaining, and emotional stroll through F. Scott Fitzgerald's life.
