Welcome Event

Our Welcome Delaware County Volunteers event was a blast! We're so happy that we got to meet so many of you and learn a little about what you like doing.

The talented Guys N' Gals Club serenaded us with the National Anthem and Michele Moll, our Executive Director, showcased the amazing work our volunteers are doing every day.

We are learning where needs in the county are the greatest and will continue our focus on providing food security, education for adults and children and senior support services. Watch for your ID badges to come in the mail in the next several weeks.

If you haven't yet submitted your volunteer enrollment form, please contact Marguerite Cunning at margic@rsvpmc.org. Welcome to the new RSVP - we're excited to work together!

Students are Benefiting

According to teachers, 80% of students improved in two or more of the following areas and 67% improved in all three: homework, class participation, tests. 100% of students that participated in both semesters improved in all three areas.

Consider volunteering for one hour a week from any computer to strengthen math skills for deserving students.

A Fun Day in the Pool

Mentors recently cooled off in the pool with their students at the home of a generous mentor.

Students ranging in age from eight to sixteen enjoyed swimming, pool games, hot dogs, horseshoes, the hot tub, did we mention hot dogs? For many students, this was their first experience outside of a community pool. It was a day to meet other mentors and mentored students and just kick back and have fun, fun, fun! Between the laughs and giggles, one student was heard to say "I made a new friend today!"

Turning 65?

To enroll in Medicare, most people need to contact Social Security directly. Do this before your 65th birthday to avoid a lapse in health coverage. You have a 7-month window around your 65th birthday to enroll. This is called the Initial Enrollment Period.
