Things are Thriving for Jajja's Kids!

It is amazing how a little time and money can have big and lasting results.  When our volunteer team visited Ronnie and the boys in March, among their contributions were garden supplies and art materials.  The garden is thriving and supplying fresh vegetables for the boys' meals.

And the young artists continue to enjoy
materials for their new creative outlet.

Kasozi and Dan proudly display their art!

The team also brought to Uganda three laptops donated by generous folks back home.  Ronnie has started computer classes for the older boys and soon all 17 boys will be exposed to this important tool.

Another generous donor contributed funds for a much-needed water tank, which captures rainwater from the roof in the rainy season to water the garden during the dry season.

Hats Off and Thanks

To two special supporters of Jajja's Kids

Ruth Pelham joined Jajja's Kids first  volunteer  trip in 2014, contributing her musical talents and creative abilities to our boys in Uganda and  their local community.  As founder and director of Music Mobile, Inc., Ruth also has a wealth of knowledge running a successful nonprofit organization, and has freely shared her expertise with us.  She was instrumental in two successful Skype exchanges between our Ugandan boys and Albany students.
Thank you, Ruth, for your loving support!

Molly Ketterer was a high school senior this past year and when she heard about Jajja's Kids she decided to help.  She set out to raise money for the boys through a "GoFundMe" on-line campaign, and collected $860 within a few short weeks.  That money covered over

a month of house expenses including food, medical care,

utilities, and staff salaries.

Thank you, Molly, and wishing you the best in college!

More Recognition for Jajja's Kids

A wonderful article about Jajja's Kids was published in the Albany Times Union on May 16, 2015.  The online version can be seen here:

And in June, Jajja's Kids received another award, a Certificate of Appreciation from the East African Community Organization.
As with the Susu Women's Club who honored us earlier this year,
it is a special honor to be recognized by organizations
for work we do in their homeland.
