Michigan State University
Undergraduate Student
Travel Support

The Undergraduate Research Office has funding available to support students travel to professional conferences.

Applicants must be currently enrolled and in good standing at the university. Funding is contingent upon financial support from another unit, such as the student or research mentor's academic department or college.

The UR office provides matching funds up to $500 to defray the cost of travel for the student. Requests will be considered on a first-come, first-served basis. The application can be found online at:

American Psychological Association
Predoctoral Fellowship in Mental Health and Substance Abuse Services (MHSAS)
Due January 15, 2016
Funded by a grant from the federal Substance Abuse and Mental Health Services Administration (SAMHSA), the MFP has created the Predoctoral MHSAS fellowship to support the training of practitioners in behavioral health services and prevention. This fellowship program is designed for students in clinical, counseling and school psychology, and other psychology doctoral students whose training prepares them for careers in behavioral health services.

The Summer Undergraduate Research Program (SURP) is a 10-week internship that provides undergraduates from underrepresented groups with valuable research and professional development experience under the guidance of UVA Faculty conducting education research. This internship program is designed to encourage students from groups traditionally underrepresented in the field of education research to pursue graduate study and consider careers in academic, policy, or research organizations. Interns will work on research focusing on schools, classrooms, and other youth settings as contexts critical to child and adolescent development. They will also participate in developmental workshops and meetings, and present at a research conference.

The dates of the 2016 Summer Undergraduate Research Program are: May 31 - August 5.

The Center for Neural Science hosts a summer research experience program for undergraduates with an interest in neuroscience. This program is designed to foster entry into a neuroscience research-centered career. Students apply for positions in a 10-week summer program during which they actively participate in research projects in the laboratories of New York University science faculty.
