We Welcome OUR
Summer Interns!

Marketing Manager Lucia Singer and Development Director Jessica Krell brought two summer interns on board to support OUR team and learn the ins and outs of marketing and development from a  non-profit agency.

Abby Gross

Abby is a junior at UCLA studying Psychology and Communication Studies. Raised in Bethesda, Maryland, she came to Los Angeles for the amazing weather and opportunities. It was important for her to have a meaningful internship where she could support the local community. Abby plans to pursue a career in marketing and is excited about working with OUR HOUSE's wonderful team!

Tiffani Castro

Tiffani is originally from Van Nuys, CA and is pursuing a B.S. in Geoscience at Williams College. She chose an internship in marketing and development, although out of her field, to gain experience that she could not have received from her studies. She hopes to pursue a career in law when she finishes her undergraduate education.

OUR HOUSE Recipient of Grant from UCLA

OUR HOUSE received a generous $50,000 grant through the help of UCLA undergraduate students in the innovative
Philanthropy as Civic Engagement  class. After meeting with the agencies, students narrowed their list of 46 nonprofits to three beneficiaries and OUR HOUSE was the proud recipient of the largest grant donation.

We are beyond grateful for this opportunity to support grieving children and adults through this donation.

2016 - 2017 School Program Makes Strides
OUR HOUSE extends its reach through satellite growth, expansion, and partnerships.  One in 20 children under the age of 18 experiences the death of a parent or sibling. The Los Angeles Unified School District is the second largest public school district in the United States enrolling just over 640,000 students.  This means there are 32,000 children in LAUSD alone who need us, not to mention the other districts we serve.

This school year, we increased the number of students we serve by  21 %.

OUR Footprint

Of of the
62  schools served this school year, 45 are in the LAUSD and 36 of these are classified as high poverty schools, with a significant percentage of children from low-income families. OUR goal is to make our programs accessible to all communities.
