Ald. Cappleman joined Ald. Moreno and four other aldermen to sponsor an ordinance that would stop stores from using plastic bags for customers. Instead, stores would be encouraged to use a soy product that has the look and feel of plastic but is biodegradable when it is exposed to any type of heat. Plastic bags have become a major source of pollution in our lakes and have created lasting damage to our environment. It is the goal of Ald. Cappleman to work on legislation that will make our City more environmentally friendly.
