Spring is in the home stretch and summer is not far behind!    The Special Events List for June to July is now posted.  The 2017 Summer Concert Series calendar is posted.   The kick-off concert will be the Bob Button Orchestra at Binney Park on June 28, beginning at 7:15 PM. Information is available for the Town's  Fireworks Displays.   Save the date of Saturday, July 29 for the Annual SANDBLAST! Sand Sculpture Festival to be held at Greenwich Point Park.  
 
Summer Day Camp program registration is on-going; some sections are full.    Registration is now open online for Summer Baseball for youth.  The program for ages 6 &7 and 8 & 9 is co-ed baseball; whereas, the division for ages 10-12 is for boys.  We have several opportunities for tennis and pickleball, read below.
 
Although ice skating has ended at the Dorothy Hamill Rink, the indoor turf is now available to be rented.  You can host a birthday party or sports program of lacrosse, soccer, whiffle ball, flag football, t-ball, or more.
The Greenwich Skatepark will not be open for this spring season.  A new concrete park is under construction and should open in August.

Tennis and Pickleball


Pickleball lines are painted on Christiano Tennis Courts and Loughlin Avenue Tennis Courts.  Pickleball players with a valid  tennis pass may reserve  those courts to play pickleball or tennis.   Players  can register  to play  on  the platform tennis courts at Loughlin Avenue Park.  For all the options of summer pickleball play, click here.
  
The Summer Schedule for Tennis is available and registration has begun.  Youth and adult tennis clinic instruction will be held in June, July and early August.  For information on tennis court use and tennis passes, click here. Information is also available for the Town Tennis Tournament.
  
Summer Day Camps summercamps
Registration continues  for three day camps for youth.  Camp sections do fill up, so don't delay! Non-residents may now  register in person or by mail.

Kamp Kairphree  is a co-ed program for children ages 5-12.  It operates weekdays from 9:00 AM to 4:00 PM out of the Eastern Greenwich Civic Center.  There are four sessions of two weeks each. Read more.

Adventurers is a co-ed program for ages 8-15 that runs from 9:00 AM to 4:00 PM, weekdays.  The on-site location is the Bendheim Western Greenwich Civic Center, and there are weekly special field trips.  There are two sessions totaling seven weeks.  The first session is already FULL as are some sections of session 2.  Limited openings remain in session 2, section B1.
  
Music and Art   is for students who have completed 3rd grade to 8th grade by June 2017.  It will be held for 5 weeks at Greenwich High School. Experience is required for Senior and Junior Band and Senior and Junior String sections.  No experience is needed for Beginning Band or Art sections.  Afternoon Art is FULL.   

Summer Soccer soccer
Super Soccer Stars will be running our youth soccer programs in the summer.  Session 1 will be from Monday, July 24 to Friday, July 28 and Session 2 will be Monday, July 31 to Friday, August 4.  Ages 4-5 will meet from 9:00 AM to 11:00 AM and ages 6-12 will meet from 9:00 AM to 12:00 noon.  The programs will be held at Loughlin Avenue Field. Eastern Greenwich Civic Center EGCC
The EGCC has many activities planned including, Pickleball,  Roller Skating on Friday nights,  Wednesday Painters Group, Archery Team,   Good Dog Training Classes  and more.  Coming up in June will be the Dance for Cancer Cure Fundraiser, and Teak Furniture Sale.  The Dance for Cancer Cure Fundraiser will be June 25 from 2-7 PM.   Registration is still being accepted for all four sessions of Kamp Kairphree.   For additional information on these and other programs, see our  June Newsletter.         

The Civic Center has rooms of varying sizes available to rent for your next party, meeting, or class!  Call us at (203) 637-4583 or contact us by e-mail .  The EGCC is located at 90 Harding Road in Old Greenwich.  
 
BWGCCBendheim Western Greenwich Civic Center
We have several opportunities for summer fun.  Filmmakers Ink has two one-week programs for youth; the Dance Pointe has summer sessions for youth; and Sew Happy is a one-week sewing camp .Information is available for Summer Basketball; registration begins in June.  Jay and Ray Music  has classes for ages 6 months to 4 years old.     BWGCC has other fun programs for youth including, Just Wee Two and the many programs of The Dance Pointe.  

Adults can participate in Zumba classes.  Open Coed Adult Volleyball is held Tuesdays from 7:30-9:00 PM.    Adults can drop-in to play Pickleball; see the  Pickleball schedule    KG Fitness Boot Camp class will be held on Tuesdays and Thursdays.  Register for one or both evenings.

The Annual Town Championship Tournament is Here!
Men:  June 24 &25   Women:  June 26


Men's and Women's Town Champions for 2017 will be crowned along with champions in all other flights.  Don't miss the chance to play golf at reduced prices, have a chance to win pro shop credit prizes and possibly bring home the trophy in your flight or as the Town Champion.  Entry is open to all Greenwich residents at least 16 years old as of the tournament start and an amateur golfer.  Applications are available at any of the Greenwich golf course Pro Shops or may be printed from the Griffith E. Harris Golf Course website.  
  
Birdies, the restaurant at The Griff, is now open with full service for breakfast, lunch and dinner.    Call (203) 717-0678 or check out their  facebook page.

As a reminder, when registering for programs or reserving facilities for the first time in 2017, each Greenwich household will need to provide proper proof of residency for the new year.

The Annual Town of Greenwich Independence Day Fireworks Displays will be held on Saturday, July 1 at Greenwich Point and Binney Parks.  In order that both shows operate smoothly and safely, we ask that you read and follow the guidelines at Greenwich Point Park  and Binney Park.     In case of rain, both shows will be held Sunday, July 2.
Cos Cob Preschoolpreschool
Register Now for 2017-18
Cos Cob Preschool, licensed by the State of CT, is for ages 3 and 4.  Classes are held Monday-Friday, 9:00 - 11:30 AM, and families may sign up for classes 3, 4, or 5 days per week.  Register   online now for 2017-18.

Parks & Recreation Foundation PRFoundation
The Greenwich Parks & Recreation Foundation was set up to receive donations, allowing the community citizens and businesses an avenue to donate to the Town of Greenwich Parks & Recreation projects and  programs.  The foundation is a 501(c)(3).  For more information and to donate, visit the Foundation website .
  
Through the Parks & Recreation Foundation, one is able to donate to the Parks & Recreation Scholarship Fund.
Greenwich Farmers Market

The  Greenwich Farmers Market is open for the 2017 season.  It will be open every Saturday from 9:30 AM to 1:00 PM through November at the commuter parking lot on the corner of Arch Street and Horseneck Lane.  Download a flyer.
Special Recreation
Greenwich Special Olympics  offers sports training and competition for children and adults with intellectual or physical challenges.  Read more.
Abilis meets the needs of people with developmental disabilities throughout their lives.  Abilis works in schools, civic organizations, and with families throughout Fairfield County.  Their events are posted on their website calendar.
  Also, the Stamford JCC offers a unique summer experience for Pre-K to Kindergarteners and 3rd to 8th Graders with a variety of needs. Read more .
Weather Cancellation Information
Please make note of the Recreation Division's weather cancellation hotline phone # (203) 861-6100.  Information regarding cancellations and closures is also posted on our Recreation Sports Website , where you can also sign up to get text alerts and/or e-mails notifying you of changes. 
Recreation Credit and Refund Policy
Credit requests for recreation program registration will be considered if received in writing prior to the start of the program.  There is a $15.00 administrative fee for credits.
  
The general policy of the Recreation Division is that we do not process refunds unless a program has been cancelled.  Please read all registration information carefully and contact us prior to registering for a program if you have any questions.
