We're doing something this year we've wanted to do for awhile...a history of art camp, exploring the origins of popular art forms while creating some fun and functional pieces.
It's so big we've added half an hour to the schedule, (with only a $5 increase in price for registrations by June 1.)
The sessions for age 5-8 will be 3.5 hours, and for age 9-14 they'll be 4 hours.
Be sure to join us as we adventure around the world and across our own back yard in South Carolina to make SEVEN NEW projects:
1) Clay face mug in the style of Edgefield face jugs
2) Clay Art Nouveau trivet with relief designs
3) Ceramic plate with self-portrait a la Picasso
4) Canvas painting with Van Gogh's Starry Night
5) Batik printed cloth napkins and clay napkin rings
6) Fused glass scene with stained glass look
7) Mosaic glass luminary with freestyle patterns
Elizabet Garzon, a Fine Arts Graduate from Winthrop, will again be our lead instructor. She will be assisted by Grace Windey, a Fine Arts major at Winthrop. These two very talented artists look forward to sharing their love of art with our campers.
The camps run four days each week, starting June 17. The schedule with registration form is posted on the website at Summer Camp.
Register now to get your preferred date. Enrollment is limited to 12 spaces and since some weeks always fill up, be sure to include a second choice week.
We're still working on the sample pieces, so you'll see them in our studio and in the eNews as they're ready.
YARN BOWLS
Our new yarn bowl has been a hit! It makes a great gift for a knitter -- and their cat too!
FAMILY DAY
Just a reminder we're now closed on Sundays for the season, and Family Day returns to Saturday. Up to four people get a combined studio fee of $12 painting one piece each.
We look forward to seeing you.
