INDEPENDENCE DAY CELEBRATION
AT NARA PARK
JULY 1, 2017
The Town of Acton is proud to announce a fun-filled Independence Day Celebration on Saturday, July 1, 2017

The activities begin at 3:00 P.M. with Family Fun Time, Welcome Ceremony at 6:30 P.M., followed by a free concert featuring Thirty6Red at 7:00 P.M.  After the concert, enjoy a grand finale with a spectacular fireworks show at 9:30 P.M.  Complimentary shuttle buses will begin at 2:00 P.M. that will take guests to and from NARA from designated off-site parking lots located along Nagog Park Drive. It is highly recommended that guests opt to take the 10-minute lighted Town Forest Trail located at the end of Nagog Park Drive to access the park entrance. This is the best way to enter and exit the park during high traffic times.  No rain date is planned.

This event is open to the general public and there is no admission fee to enter the park. Donations are greatly appreciated and are needed to help cover the overhead expenses to have this wonderful free event.

Upon entry, please note that all bags are subject to search.  Entrance to the park will take place at two locations: the lower bus drop-off area on Ledge Rock Way and the other entry via the Town Forest trail onto Quarry Road/NARA upper parking lot.  On the other end at Nagog Park Drive, there will be designated bus stops along Nagog Park Drive for pick-up and drop-off.  There will be multiple food vendors including food trucks, offering a variety of food entrées, snack foods, ice cream, and soft drinks.  No alcohol or outside grills will be permitted on park grounds or any parking areas within Nagog Park.

Family Fun Time is held from 3:00-6:30 P.M. You may purchase an all-you-can ride inflatable bracelet for only $10 per person that includes: moonbounces, 35’ inflatable obstacle course, slip n’ slide and water slide as well as games. A train ride will also be onsite for a $3 fee per person.  Credit Cards are accepted for the $10 wristbands.  NARA Beach will remain open for regular business hours with daily fee of $6 per Acton resident or non-resident rate of $8 for ages 2-11 and $10 for ages 12 & up.  NARA picnic areas are not available on this day.  On July 1, the beach parking lot will be open for beach season passholders only.  All other guests will be directed to use the NARA upper parking lot off Quarry Road until the lot is full. Once parking at upper lot is full or closed (beginning at 2:00 P.M.) all cars will then be directed to park at Nagog Park Drive.

Our free concert from 7:00-9:30 P.M. features Thirty6Red (T6R), the band that does it all! From the beginnings as an all Original band in the early 90's to today's high energy Cover Band, the band knows how to make sure everyone at their shows has a memorable experience. The lineup has been refined many times to present the strongest group of musicians and vocalists. Each shares the same philosophy - play great songs and make sure everyone is smiling from start to finish. Whether you want to sing or dance, T6R will have you moving. T6R continues to move forward as New England's best Cover band.  T6R has opened for Bret Michaels, Phil Vassar, Dustin Lunch, Gretchen Wilson, Eddie Money and many others.  Their extensive set list includes music from Bon Jovi, CCR, Maroon 5, Carrie Underwood, Sugarland, ZZ Top, Lady Antebellum, Pink and more!  Please note our amphitheater is lawn seating only.  Picnic blankets and chairs are welcome.

A spectacular fireworks show will be displayed by Atlas Fireworks at 9:30 P.M. The fireworks can be viewed from all areas of the 40+ acre NARA site.  Local businesses Donelan’s Supermarket and Gould’s Clothing have continued to donate generously for many years towards the fireworks.  Their donation is greatly appreciated by the Town and the thousands of guests who attend this event each year.

If you get hungry or thirsty during the day or evening, there will be plenty of food choices available.  Dunkin’ Donuts will offer a special free product sampling throughout the event. Boston Events will have their famous fried dough and other great carnival treats as a variety of food vendors and food trucks.  Acton Recreation will have ice cream, chips, and glow sticks for sale.
