Houmas House Plantation and Gardens

Seasons Change and So Do We

As Seen by Queen Grace

This month we transition from Spring to Summer. It's fun to see how everything changes from season to season.  You know what I love most about Houmas House? There's always something changing- beyond the gardens. Maybe it's a simple addition like a new antique in the mansion or a new seasonal entree on the menu. But sometimes it is significant like adding a new restaurant or building cottages for overnight accommodations.  Whatever it is, I always want to give my guests a reason to come back and experience something new.

In the 240 year history of The Sugar Palace, there have been over a dozen owners and it has undergone many transformations.  In fact, if you watch this video  you will see how Houmas House has grown into the estate it is today.

Thank you to all who have been part of this metamorphosis. Your visitation and interest in our history has allowed us to grow and add new experiences for you to enjoy.  I hope to see you soon.

Much  Love,
Queen Grace
