MAXUM 100% Acrylic Solid Color Stain is a great choice for new or previously coated wood, providing excellent coverage and enhanced durability by resisting moisture, mildew, discoloration and warping.

Maxum Solid Color StainMAXUM 2 100% Acrylic Solid Color Siding Stain requires a longer drying time for a more consistent finished appearance free of lap marks, and variations in sheen and opaque qualities.

MAXUM 2+ 100% Acrylic Solid Color Siding Stain is designed for most vertical exterior wood surfaces and can be applied in temperatures as low as

35 degrees F.

Maxum 7600 Semi Transparent Alkyd Deck & Siding StainLike MAXUM 2 100% Acrylic, MAXUM Transparent Alkyd Deck & Siding Stain is a premium quality, low VOC stain that protects and beautifies most exterior wood surfaces. Trans-Oxide pigments and deep penetrating alkyd resin guard against mildew, abrasion and sun damage.

Maxum 7500 Oil StainAnother versatile option is MAXUM 7600 Series Semi-Transparent Deck & Siding Stain. This stain can be used on all types of exterior wood substrate and is "wet wood friendly" for fast, dependable results. You can even apply it in near freezing weather thanks to its low temperature cure formula.

First things first.Maxum Prep Wood Restorer and Wood Stripper

If your siding or deck needs prepping before you get started, MAXUM-PREP Professional Spray Formula Deck & Wood Stripper is the solution. The powerful bleach-free, biodegradable formula removes water and oil-based stains and translucent finishes from pine, cedar and redwood as well as pressure treated lumber decks, fencing and siding.

Or, if you are just trying to return your wood to its original beauty, why not give MAXUM-PREP Deck & Wood Restorer a try? In just one application, it can help restore grayed, UV damaged and/or weathered wood to its original natural color.

Lastly, MAXUM Waterproofing Sealer protects brick, concrete and concrete block,  clay and quarry tile, stucco and virtually every wood finish from harmful freezing and thawing, warping, shrinking and splitting. So versatile, it also provides an odorless, flexible waterproof barrier to awnings, tents, tarps, backpacks, sleeping bags and more.

No matter what your exterior project, MAXUM Exterior Woodcare and House Paint Finishes and Prep Products are your answer for longer lasting, beautiful results. General Manager
Meet John "Rudy" Rudolph

Service with a smile. That's what customers have come to expect from John as he works to determine the perfect color or best product for their particular projects. He has enjoyed finding answers to difficult questions and has helped make problems disappear for more than 20 years. His most vivid memory? Supplying the paint for a customer who was covering a 150-foot building with the American flag shortly after 9/11.

John met his future wife when he began working at Anderson Paint and they now have two adorable children and a mixed breed, part Lab dog. They love spending time as a family and are always there for anyone who needs them.

John reluctantly admits that his young son is already catching on to his car obsession. John has enjoyed a different car every year since he started driving. He is currently on the lookout for number 20!

MicroSpec: A Small Way to Do Good

O'Leary Microspec PaintFor low VOC, low odor latex paint that complies with LEED Green Building Rating System GS-11 for interior non-flat paints, trust MicroSpec Enamel with Microban® from O'Leary Paint. A top grade interior paint with an eggshell finish, MicroSpec Enamel is ideal for drywall, wood, plaster, metal and masonry. Available in more than 1,400 colors, it offers outstanding stain resistance. Fingerprints, soil and grease can be washed away with mild soap and water, without harming the paint film.

The product, which is also available in primer, flat and semi-gloss, contains Microban® protection for residual antimicrobial benefits engineered to protect you and your family. A unique, EPA-registered additive, Microban inhibits the growth of stain and odor causing bacteria, mold, mildew and other fungal growth on the dried paint film. And, because it is part of the molecular structure of the paint film, it will not wash off - or wear off - so your walls are well protected for years to come.

Weekend DIY: Painting the Porch Railing

Anderson Paint customer Kathy C., from Ypsilanti Township, had good weather and a mission - to paint a rusting, flaking porch railing.

Items Needed: Wire Brush, Lightweight Plastic Dropcloth, Cardboard, Tape, Primer and Paint. All purchased at Anderson Paint Company.

The Process: Brush off any loose paint and rust. Wipe down railing to remove dirt and paint residue, as well as spider webs and other non-essentials. Mask off concrete porch, house siding - anything you want to protect from errant paint. (Kathy used the lightweight plastic dropcloth to cover her flowers.) Apply primer to work surfaces. Once dry, painting can begin but be sure to follow the instructions on the can.
Kathy's Porch Before and After

"The staff at Anderson Paint Company went out of their way to answer my questions," says our Weekend Warrior. "Bob Jr. helped me calculate how much paint I would need and walked me through the process."

The result? A freshly painted, finished railing that completes the look of Kathy's home. "Water actually beads up on the railing now," she says. "That's something that hasn't happened for years."
