 Did You Know?

The Matty Fund is the only epilepsy resource center located in Rhode Island.  Since 2003, The Matty Fund has helped hundreds of children living with epilepsy through workshops, family, events, research, medical lectures, scholarships, and camps. Our programs are designed to raise awareness and to help children and families living with epilepsy.

All Matty Fund programs and resources are provided free of charge. We never want money to be an obstacle for parents
and caregivers seeking to take advantage of our programs.

The revenue from donations, sponsorships, grants and events provide the resources needed to continue the  programs people have come to rely on. But it takes more than money. Thanks to generous volunteers, we have the people power to make all our programs happen. We thank you for your past support and hope we can rely on you in the future. Together we can make life better for children living with epilepsy!

The Matty Fund is excited to
announce the hiring of a new Executive Director!

Greetings...

My name is Marisol Garcia and I am the new executive director of the Matty Fund.  Although I am new to the position, I can appreciate the value of such an agency, because I too have a family member suffering from epilepsy.  The supportive, free services offered by the Matty Fund, such as the Discovering My Epilepsy (DME) Support Group and the parent workshops, bring families together and provide a sense of community and belonging helping with the isolation and confusion that may come with having a child living with epilepsy.  The quarterly workshops empower parents and guardians with the knowledge needed to become the best advocates for their children. And for the kids, fun events such as Camp Matty, Matty's Pumpkin Festival and Egg Hunt give them the opportunity to socialize in a friendly, safe atmosphere.

I am excited about working for an organization that touches lives so significantly.   This work, of course, continues to grow with the kind support of generous sponsors and donors-to them the Matty Fund sends a big thank you! Click here to see how these contributions made a difference in 2013.

I look forward to helping the Matty Fund carry on its mission and continued growth throughout our State.  Please feel free to contact me with any inquiries at 401.789.7330 or mattyfund@cox.net.  We want all families touched by epilepsy to become part of the Matty Fund family.

Sincerely,

 Marisol Garcia
