WHAT HAS BEEN HAPPENING
Annual Health and
Safety Fair
The Fourth Annual Health and Safety Fair for Individuals with Special Needs was held on April 22, 2018, at Old Mill High School. The event conveyed a carnival atmosphere with games, activities, inflatable physical obstacles for all ages, food and snacks for over 300 individuals. This event promoted RISE for Autism's Health and Safety Program and a number of community health and safety vendors and resources. This event went off without a hitch and we want to thank our incredible volunteers, vendors, sponsors, Anne Arundel County First Responders, and a special thank you to Old Mill High School's Staff for accommodating RISE for Autism staff, volunteers, and community members.

Many thanks to our Sponsors Prophasys, Bike AAA, Clearshark, Walmart, Bike Doctor Arnold and Anne Arundel County Recreation & Parks. Without you this program wouldn't be possible. We would also like to give our sincere thank you to Anne Arundel County Police Department Officers Stanley Newborn and Dominic Scali for joining use the entire week and being dedicated to improving the lives of individuals with special needs. 66 volunteers spent 75 minutes or more a day walking, running, sprinting, guiding, cheering but most importantly making a difference in the lives of individuals with special needs. Without you this camp cannot happen and we thank you!
"In our area, RISE for Autism hosts the iCan! Shine Bike Camp. I can't say enough about this AMAZING program. The Staff, the volunteers (there are 2 volunteers for EACH rider), the equipment, the entire experience....AMAZING!!! So amazing, that in just 5 days Luke and Henry went from barely being able to steer and pedal at the same time to cruising around the gym on their own. The Progress and confidence that this camp has provided...I have to words." ---A Proud Mom
