Dear New Haven Ballet Friends and Families,
Congratulations to NHB's students and families! We experienced an outstanding year thanks to your dedication and hard work.
NHB's outreach and spring performances received accolades from audience members for NHB's Company and Apprentice Company presentations of Le Corsaire and La Fille Mal Gardee, as well as the ballets premiering at the Shubert Theater by Tom Gold (with violist, Daniel Stone, performing) and the Superhero Ballet by Jeremy Cox. The students also showcased their tremendous accomplishments to the delight of all in attendance.
As the academic year comes to an end, we wish to c
elebrate the accomplishments of our students, the diligence and talent of our faculty and administrators, and wish our seniors bon voyage as they begin the next segment of their life's journey.
As we look to the future, we are already making exciting plans for 2016-2017 and have some wonderful announcements to make very soon.
Warmest regards,
Lisa Sanborn

NHB in the Community
NHB's
DanceAIR
program culminated in a spirited performance on May 13 at the Fair Haven School. Guest artists, Fredrick Davis (formerly of Dance Theater of Harlem) and Yelena Zerkovska were wonderful as they and NHB's Company performed excerpts from
Le Corsaire.
Eight New Haven Public School children were awarded scholarships,
which
will allow them to continue their training at NHB and enjoy performance opportunities, including
The Nutcracker
at the Shubert Theater. A special thank you to Dancers' World, Dr. Funda Gulmen, the Olga Sipolin Children's Fund, Webster Bank, the DanceAIR instructors, as well as the families, principals, teachers and administrators from Fair Haven School, Christopher Columbus Family Academy, John S. Martinez School, and Davis Street School for supporting and making this program possible.

Under the direction of
Kerry Kincy, NHB's
Shared Ability
program culminated in a heartfelt performance on May 21 at the Shubert Theater. The students were joyful in their dancing and we would like to extend a special thank you to the families and students who dedicated their energy, to the City of New Haven Cultural Vitality Program and to the Theresa Foundation for sponsoring Shared Ability.
NHB is committed to ensuring the highest quality of arts education and offering performances to the community. NHB also regularly provides tickets
free of charge to those who might not otherwise have an opportunity to see classical ballet. This year NHB was honored when
Mnkesa Whitaker and
Monica Bunton brought members of Fair Haven School's
DanceHaven
program to the Spring Performance (pictured below right).
