It is hard for me to believe that Summer is already half over! We've put together this mid-summer newsletter to help update everyone on what is happening at the studio. Take some time to look through, and as always don't hesitate to ask if you have any questions. 

Classes are filling up! Musical Theatre, Junior Hip Hop and Acro classes, are all close to filling up! Please make sure you register early so you don't miss out.

Please note that as of September 15th, any students who have not re-enrolled for Fall 2014 will be removed from our email contact list, unless you "opt in" by contacting our office.

2014/15 Calendar & Dress Requirements

The complete 2014/15 studio calendar of events and closures is now posted on our website. 
Classes will start Monday September 8th.

Dress Requirements have also been updated and are posted. You will note that as we begin a transition to offering the R.A.D. ballet syllabus at our school, some changes have been made to the ballet dress requirements. Ballet bodysuit colours and styles will be changing for the 2015/16 dance season, however will become available in the Spring of 2015.

"Dance the World" - Disney World Dance Trip 2015!

We have received enough interest to go ahead with the Disney World trip for late June 2015. We have an information meeting scheduled for Sunday September 14th, which will take place right after the Competition Team Fall meeting. Please come and join us if you would like further information on this amazing trip!

Please email Miss Melissa if you would like a copy of the trip information which was presented in June 2014.

*Students must be 9 years & older to participate in all dancing events. Students 6 years & older are able to participate in select events. Students must be enrolled in a minimum of 1 competition team class at Flexpointe to participate in the trip. 
Summer Dance Intensives - August 25th - 29th

Flexpointe Summer dance intensives are only a few weeks away! Dance Intensive is a great way to get a head start on the year. A reminder that students enrolled in 3 or more classes/week for the Fall receive an amazing 30% discount on Summer Dance Intensive tuition. Tuition for the Summer Dance Intensive also includes the September Acro/Dance workshop with Acrobatique examiner and founder Melissa Klassesn!

Junior Intensive ($375,  $262.50 with Fall multi-class discount) *4 spots open!

Senior Intensive ($487, $340.90 with Fall multi-class discount) *3 spots open!

Jazz Line Information

Miss Melissa will be choreographing a large competitive jazz group (Jazz Line) for students ages 10 years & up who are enrolled in Pre-Intermediate Jazz level or higher. Taking inspiration from the Disney movie "Tron Legacy", this is sure to be an amazing and epic high energy piece! 

Choreography will take place during Summer Dance Intensive on Tuesday Aug. 26th & Thursday Aug. 28th from 3:00 - 4:30pm. 
Choreography fee: $50, Free for students attending summer dance intensive.
*If you are unable to attend the choreography dates/times, but are interested in participating, please contact Miss Melissa for alternative arrangements.

Rehearsals: Will be one hour once per month September - May. We are trying to stay away from Sunday rehearsals, however this will depend on studio availability. Day/time is TBA
Rehearsal fee: $5/month, Free for students at tuition fee cap.

Acro Classes
Acro class times have now been finalized and are open to online registration. Acro classes are filling up and all are capped at 10 students/classes, so please register early to avoid disappointment.

Level 1 (Recital Performance) ages 6 - 10 years, Tuesday 4:00 - 5:00pm

Level 1/2 (Technique Only) ages 10 - 17 years, Tuesday 5:00 - 6:00pm

Level 1/2 (Recital Performance) ages 8 - 11 years, Saturday 11:30am - 12:30pm *Class currently full

Level 3 (Competitive) ages 10 - 17 years, Thursday 4:00 - 5:00pm *Only 3 spots open!
Gently Used Shoe & Bodysuit Sale!!!

We've had lots of interest in holding another used Shoe and Boysuit Sale event. Drop your item off at the studio during our office hours before or on Wednesday September 3rd to participate. Be prepared to fill out a small card with your asking price. 

The sale will take place during office hours on Wednesday September 3rd (5:00 - 7:00pm) & Saturday September 6th (12:00 - 2:00pm).

*All sales will be by cash only.
*You can pick up your cash or unsold items during the first week of classes (Classes start September 8th).
*Any unsold items will be added to our Shoe & Bodywear list which will remain posted on the studio bulletin board.
