Often called a tri-mountain destination, the White Pass Scenic
Byway provides access to world famous icons. The Steve's Canyon Road to Mt. Rainier is now open with Paradise Valley Road opening June 23 and the Road to Sunrise expected to open June 30. Cayuse Pass is now open while Chinook Pass will open June 9. Skate Creek Road (FR 52) between  Packwood and Ashford is open. Drive it !

Mount St. Helens will be accessed soon via Randle on FR 25 and 99. These roads remain closed until mid to late June due to snow. Plan your trip now to see the rebirth of the volcanic eruption of 1980. The new Cascade Peaks Visitor Station at Windy Ridge provides services and information for visitors. Enjoy the wild side of Mount St. Helens and the closest vantage point to the crater. Spirit Lake hike is one of the most popular summer activities here. Nature watching, night sky viewing and exploring this historic volcano make this a must see destination.   Drive it!


Mount Adams Backcountry has some of the finest recreational wilderne ss opport unities in the Gifford-Pinchot National Forest.  Famous for horseback riding, there are several good horse camps . The mountain v iew from Takhlakh Lake is heart-stopping. Once the snow melts, the fishing here is spectac ular.  Several trails start in the area, making this a great basecamp for pitching a tent. Several lakes, numerous trails and spectacular scenery awaits your adventurous spirit.  Drive it!

Ohanapecosh and Cougar Rock campgrounds are now open in Mt. Rainier National Park.
The Eastside Trail, Grove of the Patriarchs, and Silver Falls trails are now snow-free. Paradise area trails are still 100% snow covered.   See Mt. Rainier Trail Conditions here.

NOTE: Paradise Inn at Mt. Rainier anticipates the renovation of all annex guest rooms with private bath will begin August 1, 2017. Rooms without private bath in the main lodge will be available and the Paradise Inn dining room, Tatoosh Café and gift shop will remain open during the renovation.
