Valley View Farms
Week-Long Summer Programs

Join Us ~ 5 Weeks to Choose From!
During the summer program, children spend each day with "their" horse, matched to their skill and comfort level. We teach the kids safe, natural horsemanship, both on and off the ground. This allows the children to become confident while working with the horses in their own environment, not to mention have tons of fun with new friends, human and equine!

Here's a snapshot of a typical day:

First, we ride! Each student learns to groom and tack-up their own horse before hopping on for a group lesson. After a long morning of riding, we munch on our brown-bagged lunches (brought from home) and cool off. Then, students clean their tack from the morning so it's ready for the next ride. During the afternoon, students will receive ground-based horsemanship lessons and get a chance to meet some of the other horses, including our babies, on the farm. We end our day with crafts, where we learn to create horse artwork in a variety of mediums.

Daily Necessities
Each student must come to the farm prepared to ride each day. Proper riding attire includes a helmet (horseback riding or bicycle helmets are fine), long pants, and sturdy, heeled boots.

Below is a list of things to pack and bring along:
  • Plenty of water and drinks
  • Packed lunch
  • Anything else you need for a day outside - sunscreen, sunglasses, etc.
