The Vibrant Oil Paintings
of Lenore De Pree
July 3 - September 6
Lievense Gallery

Years of traveling and living in the Middle and Far East, Lenore De Pree developed a unique style. Persian Poetry illustrations - the use of space, color vibrations, absence of perspective and shadow - and the Post-Impressionists - Gaugin, Van Gogh, Matisse - served as her guides. With these influence, she evolved a style of Post-Modern Contemporary art, cognizant of forms but not restricted to them, and began to paint with a new vision.

After a life on the other side of the world, De Pree is using her style to take a close look at Holland Michigan: the streets, the beaches, the people. She's inspired to create new art in this area - contemporary, but not abstract, celebrating life and people and roots in a joyous and powerful art form.
