Around this time each year, youth from around the country travel to Denver. And many of these groups find their way to volunteering with ECM during their summer of service, along with many local groups. This message I received recently reminds me of the importance of the work we are doing both outside and inside the home, as expressed in the words of a woman whose house ECM recently painted...
"It's not just that I enjoy the outside of my home...this is making changes in my life. I am eating better, exercising more, opening the house up to more light....I LOVE how the exterior of my home looks. Now, with the vegetation (trees, flowers, bushes) blooming , it is a joy to behold."

Starting this month, ECM Work Days will take place every Tuesday and Thursday from June 4 through August 1, except for July 4, from 9:00 am through 3:00 pm, in addition to Saturday Work Days. A number of the groups volunteering are from out of state but we also have a handful of companies spending a day of work participating in an ECM Work Day. So far we've already had groups from Arizona, Idaho, Iowa, and South Dakota.
