Too Hot To Handle!
This fire occurred when the brakes and tires on the rear tandems of the tractor went on fire. Both the cab and trailer were fully engulfed in flames. We utilized our 40 ton rotator to remove the reefer unit from the trailer that was leaning on the tractor as well as the wall of the trailer that the fire department had cut off onto our flatbed tuck.
We used our heavy duty wrecker to load the cab of the truck onto our Landoll trailer for transport back to our facility. A full cleanup of the roadway ensued. Nick, Tim, Paul, Tommy, Josh and Joe were on this job.

This is the remnants of a car carrier. It had a broken injector causing the line to spew diesel all over the engine which caught fire. We utilized our 40 ton rotator to lift the cab of the truck onto our Landoll trailer to get transported from the scene back to our facility.
We used the bucket attachment on our Bobcat to cleanup the massive debris that we left behind from the burnt truck. Several of the cars on the car carrier were also damaged. Tommy, John E., Nicholas, Paul, Josh, Anthony P. and Nick Sr. were on scene for this job.
This tractor went on fire several months ago. The cab was completely burnt however surprisingly the wheels remained intact. Flo, Paul and Walter handled the tow and cleanup on this job.
Our Bobcat with sweeper attachment comes in very handy! We flatbed it out for jobs that have large cleanups. It allows us to leave the scene of an accident or fire swept and safe for the motoring public.
Above and Beyond
While on a private tow and traveling down the highway, our driver, Jeff noticed a cloud of dust ahead which he recognized as a likely accident that just occurred. He utilized his flatbed to block the lane to prevent a secondary accident and to protect the casualty. He then jumped out of the truck and saw a motorbike ahead but couldn't locate the rider. The woman in the SUV who also stopped approached Jeff and said she had hit the motorbike. Jeff called 911, told the woman to get back into her vehicle (he smelled alcohol on her breath) and located the driver who had been ejected into the woods. No pulse could be found and despite Jeff's and State Trooper Plaza's, who arrived on scene soon after, attempts at CPR they were unable to revive the young man.
Despite the unfortunate and tragic ending to this story we could not be more PROUD of Jeff. He went out of his way to stop and did everything he could do, just like the true professional he is.
