Summit Strong is PTA's one and only fundraiser for the school year. It provides funds that enhance the education and enrichment of all students at Summit through programs such as COSI on Wheels, field trips, fine arts programs and other student events throughout the year. All money collected goes directly to the Summit PTA, and to these types of programs for students.

In order to qualify for any prizes, all money must be turned in by Thursday, Sept. 28 @ 3:40 pm. PTA is a non profit organization, and contributions are tax-deductible. Online contributions can be made though the website https://summitpta.wufoo.com/forms/summit-strong-2017/

Attention 6th Grade Parents! Each year a DVD is created with photos of our 6th grade class throughout their years at Summit Elementary. Please help us collect some of the precious moments in their lives that you have captured on your devices. All photos must be taken during Summit events. Please focus your attention on K-1st grade for now. Of course, if you find other years, submit them, too. You can email photos to: [email protected]

Destination Imagination Deadline!

We are finishing up the process of placing students on teams for this year's challenges. If you are interested, please contact Tina at  [email protected], or call 388-0288.

Each team consists of 2-7 students, with 3-4 adult volunteers: team manager, appraiser, and tournament helpers. The team will choose together which of 7 challenges they will solve, and work together according to each team's schedule on coming up with a solution for that challenge. This will be presented as a play/ performance at a tournament in February. All children are welcome! But, we do need a parent for each team to step up and oversee the meetings in order to register the team. Please consider this awesome opportunity for your child! For more info about challenges check the DI website http://www.ohdi.org/. To see past performances in action, search YouTube for Destination Imagination tournament videos by year.

If you have further questions, I will also be having an informal meeting this Wednesday after school by the picnic tables. I will have packets and materials for any team managers already committed, and will be trying to make final placements on teams. If you are unable to attend, call or email me with any questions, and I can still get any team managers their packets. If you are considering becoming a manager, please let me know and I can also get some information to you that may help you see what is involved. Hope to hear from you!
