Background
Session III On Father's Day 2009, PHEN implemented its inaugural "Father's Day Rally Against Prostate Cancer" in partnership with 33 churches in Massachusetts. In 2012 the "Fourth Annual Father's Day Rally" was held in partnership with hundreds of churches located throughout the United States. This initiative has proven to be highly effective in raising awareness and increasing knowledge among the men, and their families, who are most at risk for prostate cancer. New Samaritan Baptist Church, which hosted a Father's Day Rally during each of its two services in 2012, is hosting summit session III. This session will review and examine models of success for the Father's Day Rally through the experiences and highlights of churches that participated. The session will also address strategies for expanding this faith-based initiative to include additional churches on Father's Day, and for expanding the on-going educational outreach using these partnerships throughout the year.
