2018 Community Church High School Work Trip to
The Farm Church in Durham, North Carolina
28 Community Church High School students and adult leaders Kristin Wiesberg, Elinor Jannotta, Dave Krakowski, Zach Hancock and Tom Dickelman will spend time working in the Farm Church's urban gardens, getting educated on issues such as food deserts and pantries for the malnourished / hungry / homeless, and be with Farm Church members for worship and other events. And, we'll make the time to enjoy Durham's best swimming hole, take in a Durham Bulls baseball game, as well as some other fun stuff - all while staying at Duke University. Please keep us in your thoughts and prayers on what should be a great journey!
P.S. - thanks to the Cookie Walk sponsors & supporters for their role in helping us provide partial scholarships to some participants.

Ken's Weekend Music Corner
is Back!

Sunday is a great day for live music! On the beach we have Nic Barnum along with guitarist Phil Jerina and yours truly on keys. That afternoon our friends the Housewreckers will be playing some blues at the Humble Pub in Highwood starting at 2 pm. Finally to round out a great day of music, Suede and the LOVE will be performing at The Family Piano Co. in Waukegan, starting at 3:30 pm.

Foodstock is June 24th on the Village Green in Lake Bluff from 4 pm to 7 pm. The Housewreckers and our own Good On Sunday Band will be providing Live music in the Gazebo. This is all to support COOL ministries who do great work feeding the hungry and providing transitional housing for those in need. We’ll have burgers by Meatheads and Ice cream by Suzies Swirl available. If you choose to donate you’ll be entered to win some great prizes donated by local merchants or you might like to empty your pantry of non-perishable food items and bring them along. The Food Pantry truck will be parked on Scranton and ready to be filled!
