From time to time, they may offer special, limited time promotions that increase the donation amount on one or more products or services or provide for additional donations to The Center for Children & Young Adults.

CCYA Youth Spotlight,

Jessie

We would like to spotlight one of our youth this month. Jessie, an 18 year-old boy and senior in high school, has lived at CCYA on and off for six years. Jessie hopes that one day when he becomes a famous artist that he can open a shelter for homeless people. He said, "I have a lot to offer because I know what it feels like." Jessie's love of art began in preschool. He loved to draw and make homemade cards for his grandmother.

As the years went on, he discovered that he really enjoyed sketching people and was drawn to their eyes, which he said is his favorite thing to sketch on a person. He started drawing stick people like everyone does in pre-school but suddenly began to add more detail achieving a level that appears to be a gift. Jessie is well on his way to making a name for himself; he receives constant requests on his Instagram account from people that want him to sketch self-portraits like the one pictured here. After graduating from high school, Jessie would like to further his education and appreciation of art at Savannah College of Art & Design (SCAD). Currently, there is a waiting list for his drawings as he attends high school full time and works at Subway. Here at The Center we are proud of Jessie and all his accomplishments and wanted to share with you.

Upcoming Event: The Circle for Children's Emerald Ball

The Circle for Children's Emerald Ball will take place on March 28th at the Georgia Aquarium. All funds raised will benefit CCYA. The evening is amazing as people enjoy food, drink, and dancing with the aquarium's beautiful aquatic life as the backdrop. There will be a silent auction of about 200 items along with 5 live auction items. Proceeds from ticket purchases and auction sales will help fund The Center's programs and services. As a volunteer charitable organization, The Circle for Children is a long-time supporter of CCYA and has served Georgia's at-risk youth and children organizations for 88 years! For more information, please visit www.circleforchildren.org

Upcoming Event: 6th Annual Thriving Children Fashion Show & Gala
We're also planning for our 6th Annual Thriving Children Fashion Show & Gala at the Fox Theatre on Friday, April 24th. This year's event will include live performances by Georgia's Best Female Country Artist, Angela Reign, and our very own CCYA Choir! We are still looking for auction items, especially restaurant gift cards. For more information, please visit our event website www.atlthrivingchildren.org or contact Andrea Watkins at (770)485-1639 or [email protected]
