This summer, a group of disabled U.S. military veterans are riding bicycles, hand cycles and recumbent cycles from San Francisco to Virginia Beach as part of the Sea to Shining Sea Ride Across America. Participants are U.S. veterans of wars in Afghanistan, Iraq, Bosnia and Vietnam who are living with disabilities ranging from loss of limbs to blindness to Post Traumatic Stress. Their participation serves as an inspiration to other disabled persons nationally.

On Tuesday, July 24th, the group pedals through Richmond, with a stop at the Governor’s Mansion for a reception with supporters from throughout the Richmond Region.

Help give these veterans a rousing welcome to Central Virginia! Stop by the Virginia Governor’s Mansion around 1:15 p.m. and cheer the veterans as they arrive. Refreshments will be provided by the Virginia Automobile Dealers Association. The Sea to Shining Sea Bicycle Ride is nationally sponsored by MWV, Dominion and State Farm, among others.
