Issue No. 76
Sunday, October 16, 2016

We hope you've had a great summer and are enjoying our pleasant fall weather. Over the past few months we've been finishing our briefs to the Utah Supreme Court, talking wth legislators and candidates about stream access, building galvanized steel access ladders for placement around the state, expanding our membership base, and prepping for our annual membership meeting in November.
SUPREME COURT UPDATE

The appeals of the two District Court Rulings (which we won in April and November 2016) are well underway. Briefing has been completed in the Weber Case, and we are in the final exchange of briefs in the Provo Case. We anticipate that the Supreme Court will hear oral arguments on both appeals back-to-back early next year, with final rulings in both cases in the subsequent few months.

2016 USAC VOTER'S GUIDE

As you may have noticed, it's an election year. We've been busy talking with candidates around the state to educate them on stream access issues for you, the educated voter. We've combined these discussions with previous voting records to create the 2016 edition of the USAC voter's guide. Follow the link, find your candidates, open lines of communication, and fill out your ballots accordingly.
5000th MEMBER DRIVE

Believe it or not, from a handful of individuals we have grown to nearly 5,000 members. To celebrate that monumental number, the USAC (with Fish Tech Outfitters and Sage Fly Fishing) will be giving away the brand new Sage X to member # 5000. It may take a week, it may take a month, but either way it shows how far we've come as an organization - and how much stronger our grassroots voice has become

To be eligible, the person must be a new member ( so if you're already receiving this email, you can't win the X), must support USAC's mission statement, and must sign up through our website. Spread the word, and help us hit 5,000 members strong!
2016 USAC General Membership Meeting

USAC's Annual Membership Meeting will take place on November 17 at the Salt Lake City Library (Conf. Room B)  from 7-9 PM.  Please plan on attending.   More details, including a call for nominations for the USAC Board of Directors, will follow in an email next week.
Thanks again for your continued support.
