The Southern Co-operative opened its first store in Brighton & Hove city centre last week with the exciting news that it will sell Albion Pies, as made for the American Express Community Stadium by Worthing bakers Piglet's Pantry, donating 20p for every pie sold to Albion in the Community.

Albion footballer Inigo Calderon helped officially open The Southern Co-operative's Western Road store, which offers convenience shopping and a selection of quality Sussex food products. At the launch, the store's manager, Stephen Pelling, also presented a cheque for �500 to St Patrick's Night Shelter in Cambridge Road and promised pies to everyone staying in the shelter over Christmas, to help make this last festive season for the shelter a success.
