This month it was announced that 67.2% of paper consumed in the U.S. was recovered for recycling in 2016 - an all time high. As the industry marches towards maximum recovery, risks could derail these efforts. An example: single-stream collection, which often results in bins full of garbage, not recyclables.

Paper was invented in China around the year 105 A.D., but the technology was kept a secret for many years.
