Who Is MBDance?
The New York Times (Claudia La Rocco) said: Maria Bauman's "Concerning Proximity," ...was texturally rich in its gestural language, and beautifully performed by Maresa D'Amore-Morrison and Kendra Ross (and how refreshing to see a matter-of-fact depiction of lesbian sexuality).

GO Magazine (Kat Long) said: Maria Bauman, is a self-described activist through contemporary dance whose work is steeped in quite a particular philosophy: the personal is political, and art can coax our attention toward "difficult truths."

Greetings!

Are you ready to sweat your truth and support an amazing dance company in developing new work? I hope so because MBDance is taking over WOW in July with a celebration of summer and Life Force!

Sincerely,

WOW Cafe Theatre

WOW's own Maria Bauman/MBDance is being featured at SummerStage!

But first, they love up our theater JULY 13 & 14, 2012!

MBDance is honored to invite some of our favorite artists to share the stage for this fundraising concert.

Next Month At WOW...

How does the body remember touch? What are the origins of intimacy?
TENDER is an experimental dance theater piece that uses the physiology of skin as a lens to look at the construction and destruction of boundaries. Merging text derived from medical literature and personal narrative, the piece unravels the complexities of intimate violence in queer relationships and investigates the ways in which our bodies remember trauma. Ultimately, TENDER offers respect and acceptance as a way to shed old scars. Come be a part of our very first audience and share your feedback and impressions at TENDER's first workshop production at W.O.W. Café Theater on the 9th, 10th and 11th of August at 7:30 pm.
