Sweden Update: Updated Regulations Issued
On Thursday the Swedish Gambling Authority published updated rules and regulations which are now subject to public consultation until May 7, 2018.

Seven different documents were published including responsible gambling measures, licensing requirements, and reporting obligations.

The published regulations are updated versions of previous ones that have already been subject to consultation in 2017.

The Gambling Authority has therefore launched a shorter consultation and ask for comments only on the amended parts.

Although there are no major changes, it seems as if there are heavier burdens on licensees in terms of responsible gambling measures and certain other reporting obligations.

A section has been added that specifies the games that will be allowed to be offered under an online casino licence as roulette, baccarat, punto banco, black jack and poker. This is in addition to online bingo and virtual slots that are specified in the draft law.

All the documents have also been notified to the European Commission so translated versions should be available in due time.
