10/27/2013 Congratulations to Dr. Susan Swedo on winning the PANDAS debate against Dr. Donald Gilbert at the AAP conference! According to AAP News, "In (a) vote following debate, about 85 percent of attendees agree with Swedo's position, similar to pre-debate tally." In an AAP News TODAY pre-debate interview, Dr. Swedo was quoted saying, "We've got more research to do, questions that we still need to answer but, when it comes to practicing medicine, let's forget about the strep, the etiology, the controversy. and just focus on taking care of these children, making the appropriate diagnosis and getting them into treatment."
