T'was a week before Christmas
And all through our Sweet Home,
Not a creature was stirring...

(Except those heading to the Nutcracker, A Christmas Carol, Santa's Cottage or one of several musical performances and holiday celebrations.)

You didn't think this was going
to rhyme, did you?

By the way...
There are still a few days left to play the Holiday Shopper's Scavenger Hunt!

You may be one of 15 winners who'll be adding to their Christmas celebrations with prizes donated by more than 80 local merchants!

All quizzes must be completed on-line by Sunday, December 21st at midnight.
Winners will be notified on Monday!

Good Luck!!

Have a GREAT week.

Happy Hanukkah!
We'll see you next Thursday.

Arjun Verma Sitar Concert with Naren Budhakar - Tabla
Arjun, now a Californian who was raised in Oneonta, has played in world class venues to mark an impressive entry into the world of music. Trained under his father, Roop Verma, for 10 years and, then under his father's legendary teacher, Maestro Ali Akbar Khan, for 8 years, and his son, Alam Khan, for the past 5 years, Arjun has become a brilliant sitarist of his generation representing Indian Classical and traditional music in its purest and authentic forms and also other repertoires with Western Classical forms, such as performing with the Houston Grand Opera in the world premiere of Jack Perla's "River of Light". In addition to performing, he teaches sitar and North Indian Classical Music at the Ali Akbar College of Music and the California Jazz Conservancy. He grew up accompanying his father nationally and internationally and, for this evening, will perform as a soloist for the first time in Oneonta with brilliant tabla accompaniment by Naren Budhakar. Naren, a disciple of tabla Maestro Ustad Shabbir Nisar, performs and teaches in the USA and abroad, lending his percussion skills to various forms of World Music. He is on the faculty of the east West School of Music in Monroe, NY. Seating is limited. Call or email to reserve your seat in advance. $20 at the door.
