Looking for the January Thaw?
It could get to be nearly 50 degrees today!
The last few days have been a nice change from the bone-chilling cold of the previous week... but here it comes again!
By the weekend, it'll be down in the teens.
It's Winter in our Sweet Home...
But, we're a hearty bunch, aren't we?
And with so much to entertain us, what else can we do but venture forth, braced against the elements, for the warmth of an evening shared with friends and a stage.
Bundle up!
And enjoy.
We'll see you next Thursday.

The Met Opera Presents: The Opera House
The Opera House, a new film by award-winning documentary filmmaker Susan Froemke, surveys a remarkable period of the Metropolitan Opera's rich history and a time of great change for New York. Featuring rarely seen archival footage, stills, recent interviews, and a soundtrack of extraordinary Met performances, the film chronicles the creation of the Met's storied home of the last 50 years, against the backdrop of the artists, architects, and politicians who shaped the cultural life of New York City in the '50s and '60s. Among the notable figures in the film are famed soprano Leontyne Price, who opened the new Met in 1966 in Samuel Barber's Antony and Cleopatra; Rudolf Bing, the Met's imperious General Manager, who engineered the move from the old house to the new one; Robert Moses, the unstoppable city planner who bulldozed an entire neighborhood to make room for Lincoln Center; and Wallace Harrison, whose quest for architectural glory was never fully realized.

Hummel's Jug Live
Country band HUMMEL'S JUG is based out of upstate New York. Their sound is edgy, but fits the mold of the legends they model themselves after; legends such as Waylon Jennings, Merle Haggard, David Alan Coe and Johnny Cash to name a fraction of the many. The group puts its own spin on the songs they cover and could be accurately compared to Jamey Johnson with their original material. "The Jug" takes pride in their vocal harmonies and musical arrangements, and has a strong desire to reach each and every listener thru authentic expression. When describing HUMMEL'S JUG original music, it's best defined as "Outlaw Country". Having formed in July of 2013, the band is young and it's potential is limitless.
