Children's Mental Health Awareness Day
The Family Resource Network is hosting a Children's Mental Health Awareness Day event at the Foothills Performing Arts Center. We will be screening the documentary Paper Tigers. Paper Tigers surveys the life of 6 high risk students attending an alternative High School that has radically changed its approach to disciplining its students, becoming a promising model for how to break the cycles of poverty, violence and disease that affect families. The movie will be followed by a panel discussion, refreshments and we will end the night with drawings for door prizes donated by many local businesses!

James Hearne
James Hearne is one of the more dynamic performers working today. Years in the rock and roll world have created a charismatic presence, as comfortable alone on a stage as in front of a full band; a lifetime of music immersion make him as able with a lyric as with a melody. His songs are an engaging alt-country blend, hooky and rustic.

Celebrate Mother's Day with Iroquois stories and create a special keepsake with (or for) your Mom. Ronnie is an accomplished weaver of tales who grew up listening to the stories of Seneca and Cayuga elders Virginia Snow, Marion Miller, and Joyce Pemberton. As a Seneca educator, she shares her stories with children at Ganondagan Historic Site, the National Museum of the American Indian, and schools throughout the region. Her stories honor and celebrate mother earth and offer lessons for all ages.
