'Tis the Season for Artists, Artisans  and Craftspeople

This week begins a succession of Craft Fairs and Gallery Shows to help connect the creative talents of our Sweet Home with an appreciative and supportive local audience.

There's the Holiday Craft Show at the FoxCare Center in Oneonta, the Holiday Craft and Vendor Fairs in Walton and Oxford, the Walton Group of Artists Exhibition, the Holiday Market at the Working Kitchen in Oneonta's East End, the Small Works Artist Reception in Roxbury, and more to come.

Of course there are the continuing displays of art for sale at your favorite galleries.

And certainly worthy of your time to visit and support... The Artisans' Guild in Oneonta.

What better way to begin your holiday shopping?

Enjoy it.  And enjoy the (very full) calendar of entertainments provided below.

We'll see you next Thursday!

Simply purchase any food item, including perishables, at market and place in the large coolers by the exit. All donations will be delivered to the Cooperstown Food Pantry's refrigerators and freezers immediately following market. Think meats, cheeses, eggs, produce, baked goods, honey, maple syrup, literally ANY food item available at the market, just stuff it in the cooler!

Sunday Afternoon Series: How the Indians Lost Their Land
Since the Age of Discovery, Indian affairs administration has been marked by idealism, pragmatism, racism, and self-interest. These competing forces occurred nationally, in New York, and locally, here in Cooperstown. Anthropologist William Starna and Attorney Joseph Membrino will discuss the colonial and federal eras during which tribal lands and resources were lost as the scope of tribal sovereignty was redefined.
