* This is an all weekend event * The cost is $50 per person, which includes the cost of meals, facilities, produce and purchased jars. Of course, all who attend will contribute to the work of canning and gleaning those apples the late frost did not destroy. Probable candidates for preservation are: Corn relish, Cauliflower pickles, Wild apple fruit leather, Pesto sauce in bulk, Crushed garden tomatoes, Pickled string beans, Mixed hot chiles, plus or minus whatever opportunity local providers allow. Provisions served over the weekend will include a pancake breakfast, cocktails using local Prohibition Distillery booze, and Ukrainian borscht, which is virtually an entire harvest in one bowl. Peter Clark Student Rentals will receive the Eduard Hofbauer Outstanding Service Award for generously providing space to GOHS for collection storage when the collection was moved off-site during construction. After refreshments and the presentation of awards, there will be a short business meeting, including the election of Trustees and officers.
