HOW AUDITIONS WORK:

Auditions are open to everyone!
Ethnic diversity is strongly encouraged,
and is part of the theatre's vision.

Auditionees will be reading from the script.
Scripts may be checked out for 48 hours
with a $10 refundable deposit.
Come upstairs to the HCT office to pick one up.
It is highly recommended that auditionees
read the script before auditioning.

For musicals, prepare a song you feel confident in singing.
Try to select a song that is the same style as the show
for which you are auditioning.
(Melodic songs like show tunes, church music,
are better than jazzy pop songs.)
Bring sheet music if possible; no recorded accompaniment.

There may be dancing or improvisation
as part of the audition.
Please dress in clothes you can move in.
Please, no flip-flops.

Please look carefully at the rehearsal schedule
and performance dates.
Being in a show at Hickory Community Theatre requires
a great time commitment.
If you will only take a larger or smaller role
because of your own time concerns,
or if you are auditioning for just the experience,
WELCOME!--
but please let the director know your intentions.

ALL ACTORS MUST BE AT ALL PERFORMANCES
